A 25 Second trailer for Jake Stephenson’s Adaptation. Have a look and see what you think. Feel free to share!
When was the last time you saw a pigeon? Chances are you saw one today, especially if you live in a city as busy as London, England.
But what do you think of pigeons? Ugly? Common? Boring?
Well in many ways they are. The first colour you see is a dull grey, and their movements appear to be clumsy and without purpose. But is this all that there is to the feral pigeon? Or is there something else by which we can judge them on?
For starters they are one of the most successful animals on the planet. Having a presence on every continent on Earth apart from the poles means that they have clearly found the key to living in a modern world so heavily influenced by humans.
There are many species in the animal kingdom which have suffered due to the interferences of man kind. However the pigeon is one example which shows that if a lifestyle can be adapted to coincide with humans, it will prosper.
Behind this dull exterior is a bird which has evolved several ‘life tactics’. To learn more and to gain an insight into the day-to-day life of one of London’s busiest residents, search ADAPTATION PIGEON in Youtube to find ‘Jake Stephenson’s Adaptation’.
Adaptation by Jake Stephenson
So this is the wildlife film I have been working on for the past 12ish months, it aims to look at pigeons in a different way; not so much an idiotic pest but a creature which has learnt to use us to survive - much more effectively than we have been able to use them…
The opening sequence contains the Tilt-Shift screen shots which I have been posting recently.
So anyway, I hope people like it… (o and make sure you watch it in HD using the cog icon in the bottom right of the youtube screen)
Adaptation… the title of the wildlife short film I am making at the moment. The films tag line is ‘looking at things we see every day differently’ and that’s really the purpose of the film to look closer at the feral pigeon and discover the array of remarkable abilities that they possess.
A screenshot of the wildlife film I am editing at the moment. This shot is part of a Tilt/Shift sequence which opens the film.
